August 28 and 29 2018- Day 2 and 3 for inspiring actions: The U.N. 17 Global Goals for 2030!

Hello August,

yesterday I discovered a new café in a beautiful park and I send pictures to many of my friends, and today I discovered the 17 UN Global Goals for the planet, and ways we can contribute to them in our every day life.

Apparently they were around since 2015, but it’s good to take notice, 2030 is not far, but that gives us a few more days to act!

So, before choosing one goal to take action, I will read them through and decide which one could be more meaningful to me today 🙂

June 20, 2017- Keeping the compass -Focus to our North Star

Hello June,

how do I keep my compass with me everyday, in a way I am focused on whatever I have in mind to accomplish?

Little or big things happen, change arrives and it is good.

We change our values and preferences with time, and our friends, as I just read.

But is there something that is constant?

And if yes, how do I keep my eyes on it?

Where my North Star is?

How do I switch from a feeling of being guilty for not being perfect to acknowledging my strengths and going forward?

I sometimes take it on me I haven’t accomplished this and that; if i find resistance, is there a way to change something so that I go with the flow?

Probably, feeling guilty is taking my gaze away from the North Star.

It is irrelevant.

Am I doing what is best?

I am doing my best for the day.

I promise that.

And doing that is already great.

How about issues that seem to be obstacles?

If I face the North Star, I will find my way around them 😉

April 20, 2016: Post day 7- how to define a strategy

Dear April,

a small change I can try today is how to learn from feedback without letting it throw me off-balance. Yesterday I invited an artist to participate in an event I will organize back to France. He told me the gallery is not good enough for him and he wouldn’t know of anyone who would be interested. From his acquaintances.

That kind of shook me because it triggered older insecurities. I believed in this project and I mean to go back to Paris to talk with the gallery people. This idea of hierarchy somehow made me sad.

Is he right? Should I try to connect to the places/people with the best possible reputation instead of going the other-way round? Meaning, instead of collaborating with those I like and whose work I appreciate without checking on their reputation?

My former way of doing things has not been very productive from a material point of view. But starting from the utility of people and things is not in my philosophy.

Coming to London, is an opportunity because I have connected to a lively artistic platform with a good “reputation”: How can I evolve from here in a way that I am in harmony with my values in life?

March 3- Challenge: a love from the past

Hello March,

what would you do in my place? If your first Parisian love, H, declared he has been thinking about you dearly for the last… years? Well, small detail, H is in a relationship and has a little boy. (If he is married? We are in Paris, dear, living with someone is almost as if…).

I personally, felt confused. He was my first Parisian crush. I was a small town girl, he was Parisian, with this “je ne sais quoi” air. But he seemed to be a “dom Juan” kind of person, changing relationships as fast as the traffic light changes from green to red. Mmm, yes, I had been one of these relationships. And then I left, it didn’t feel healthy. He was telling me he didn’t love me and was full of caprices. What do you mean so am I?

So now, H, who had been in Norway for his work, came back to Paris and contacted me. He seems to be very much in love with me. To cherish the moments we spent together a few years ago. And to be afraid of his attraction for me. Because I am such a “femme fatale”.

This is very flattering in a way, don’t you think?

But what if it were BS?

For example, may be he is nostalgic of his twenties and finding an ex-girlfriend of this period could make him feel good. Like a reunion in a way.

He hasn’t been a very faithful type of person in the past. He might just want to keep on with his relationship and have some distractions here and there. Why not declare his love?

He is bored with his life and tries to spice it up by confusing other people too.

He could even be sincere, but in the end, he seems to be pretty comfortable in his life style.

Because deep down I am a simple girl and think that a loving couple involves two people. And this is quiet enough.

Three principles for 2015: kindness, Wisdom, Gratitude

Happy 2015 dear friends!

I have started 2015 in my hometown, and as I came back to Paris I was absorbed by some violent, but also some very solidary actions of the citizens in this beautiful city!

In order to start this blog-year well, I found out a petition on line, that corresponds to my beliefs: let’s promise to show Kindness, Respect, Wisdom and Gratitude the whole year! I have signed up, and in case any one would like to join, you will find the link at the end of the post. But I guess practicing is more important than signing 🙂

Three Principles for 2015

Show Kindness and Respect

We will show kindness and respect towards ourselves and others whenever possible. And it’s always possible, because everyone we meet is fighting a battle we may know nothing about.

Strive for Wisdom

We will seek to be wise in our decisions, listening deeply to ourselves and others, and balancing our heads, hearts and intuitions in a harmony that feels right.

Practice Gratitude

We will regularly reflect on what we’re grateful for, because it brings perspective, dissolves negativity, and grounds us in what’s most important.

Our community has overwhelmingly voted for these 3 simple, powerful principles to support each other to follow in 2015. Join thousands of others in this New Year’s pledge to ourselves, and then share stories and insights from our “journeys within” on a live chat tool. When 500,000 of us pledge, we’ll invite world leaders to personally join us, and we’ll all check in 3 times this coming year to see how we’re doing.

October 18- Insights from J.K. Rowling

Hello October,

what did you say? Yes, I like Harry Potter. I have read some of the books and watched some of the films. I love fairy tales, and this one has a very good psychological background, it seems to me. So here is a quote from its author, to inspire our day:

“I was set free because my greatest fear had been realized, and I still had a daughter who I adored, and I had an old typewriter and a big idea. And so rock bottom became a solid foundation on which I rebuilt my life”.

J. K. Rowling

Now, the way I understand it, is, if we have something we love to defend, and an inspiring idea, this is all we need to act. Difficult circumstances become a sort of emergency: if I don’t move now, something very valuable to myself and others will be lost. This is the moment! Cease the day April!

April 26 – my philosophy

“My philosophy” as expressed at the first steps of my blog in April, in order for me to reflect of the time that has passed and the way it has evolved 🙂

april4june6: A journal of self-tranformation

Dear April,

Today I continued playing in a lower key: for the first part of the day, I planned a meeting with one of my best friends. She used to live in Paris. It was time to catch up, especially since the weather was nice and we enjoyed siting outside. We talked about ourselves, families, friends, plans.

Then, I took a walk by myself, towards the old town: I watched the beautiful view, looked at the clouds passing by and meditated. It is important to be a realist, but also to have dreams and objectives. At least this is my philosophy: to keep my feet on the ground and the head in the clouds.

When there is a will, there is a way. And there is a will, if there is a dream. What is my purpose? I want my novel to be published and then translate it in English.

April 29 – the star

My hometown visits usually make me compare past and present, reflect on what the future can be 🙂 I reblog one of my favorite posts of my former visit.

april4june6: A journal of self-tranformation

Dear April,

Today I had a meeting with a former literature professor at school, a big favorite, who also became a writer. He is now close to retirement from civil service, but his writing career continues.

It was great seeing him again!

We met at the café, and between two bites of croissant and a coffee, we managed to catch up for last year. He was advising me on publishing houses for my book. Another friend of his joined after a while, and he told her I was a “star” student, and continued being a star.

Now a “guest star” in my hometown and hopefully a star in Paris, I thought. In case Parisians haven’t realized it yet, I will help them open their eyes soon… 🙂

I also treated him as a rock star, when he explained that a student was harassing him and he had to hide in…

July 22- How to be both the Cricket and the Ant?

Do you know this story July?

“The cricket had sung her song
all summer long
but found her victuals too few
when the north wind blew
Nowhere could she espy
a single morsel of worm or fly.

Her neighbor, the ant, might,
she thought, help her in her plight…”

Well, you probably have no idea about the north wind. You listen to the cricket sing and enjoy it, but according to this story and its morale, singing is not “working”. How about blogging? Painting? Dancing?  Should artists be in the cold during the winter time? Is there only one type of work that should be rewarded?

Anyway, I have been both during the winter time: a cricket and an ant; had both fun and also worked for different projects.

Now it feels like I need a small vacation. To sing close to the seaside, close to nature, to dance, to love and be loved. We need to let go a little bit and just enjoy the fact of being alive, sing because the weather is good (I am not talking about Paris today), or because we had something nice to eat or drink. Or because we saw a beautiful person; etc, etc, etc.

Does singing and dancing involve intimacy? Eh, maybe they serve to attract someone in the first place.

How do we transform attraction into intimacy? Where we meet in all the possible meanings of the word?

By sharing the same lifestyle and the same values? An ant that lives with an ant, a cricket with a cricket?

Or a cricket with an ant? It could be a better match in my opinion. In this way, the cricket would have food and shelter in the winter. And the ant would loosen up a bit and learn to enjoy life in the company of the cricket. And even dance.

But neither should be judgemental of the other.

I thing this could be a happy marriage.

Also when it comes to ourselves: we could let our “cricket-side” embrace our “ant-side”.

And become more complete 🙂

July 18- Brave Heart Award

Dear July,

have you heard the news? My blog has been nominated by Dazzling Whimsy  at dazzlingwhimsy.com for the Brave Heart Award! I feel honoured and grateful. But what is more, it gives me courage to be brave! (http://dazzlingwhimsy.com/2014/07/16/brave-heart-award/)

Dazzling Whimsy is searching for sunshine in an obscure world. And this is definitely courageous and beautiful.

Now, in order to abide by the rules, I will answer a series of questions:

  • Tell us a little bit about your blog. Who designed it?
I have used the Reedle Theme from WordPress. The photo that serves as background pictures two beautiful trees full of flowers at the Luxembourg garden in Paris, where I live, in April. It is a photo that I have taken myself and I love a lot.

  • What is the title and description of your blog?
April4June6: A journal of self-transformation. It started as a challenge I undertook: to write a form of daily journal for three months, as a tool to change certain aspects of my life: create prosperity and allow a loving relationship. I wanted to see change in three months. The incentive was a difficult time with a “wannabee boss” who appears in some of my posts. But it also helped me realize there are a lot of things I love about my life and myself :-). My style is a form of “dialogue” with the different months of the year. As a mentioned in my “update”, something concrete happened in this period: my project passed the first step of an evaluation at the end of June. But at the same time, this blog is an excuse to do what I love: WRITE. And to share some thoughts and questions on everyday life, with those who would like to accompany me. I extended the period of the blog to another three months 🙂

  • Who is your intended audience? At the beginning, my intended audience was myself and two of my best friends. Now, everyone who would take an interest in it is welcome! I am very grateful of fellow-bloggers who have read and commented on my posts. This dialogue has taken me a step further and made my life more beautiful! Thank you again!

  • How did you come up with the title of your blog? I just wanted to write for three months, my challenge was from April to June, and I added 4 since April is the fourth month and 6 for June.

  • Give us an interesting fun fact about your blog. I have been writing a post a day for three months and a half now 🙂 and intend to continue with the same rythm for another three months.

  • What other blogs do you own and what makes them alike? This is my first blog, but I also have a site related to my other activities, that I will reveal in the future.

  • Do you have any unique talents or hobbies? I think we all have talents and hobbies in a way. I write fiction and poetry. My first novel is already submited in different publishing houses, but it is not in english, yet! As to hobbies, my favorite is having a coffee in Paris or elsewhere, discussing with people I love or by myself, while watching people passing by. Reading of course, now blogging also, if this can be considered a hobby. I also love to dance!

  • What can we expect from you in the future? To be present in the blog-sphere and to tell you about my novel that I will translate in english 🙂 I should start this August.

  • Do you have any tips for readers or advice for other writers/bloggers? I think it is important to write because it helps self-reflection and it allows us to become conscious of certain ideas that could have passed unoticed. Gettinf feedback is also so important! To be brave and accept some vulnerability. Being vulnerable demands a lot of courage!

I would like to nominate the following blogs for the Braveheart Award:

Each blog represents for me a different dimension of a “Brave Heart”

1. http://kimberlyharding.wordpress.com/2014/07/18/back-to-my-husband/ for bringing to the surface elements that lie in our collective inconscious, through her art and posts. I linked to her last post that I find absolutely great, talking about herself and her love for her husband.

2. http://stringofpearls2.wordpress.com/about/ for her courage to put herself on stage and share her world with us : “I am addicted to beauty, I love too deeply, and I’m a scarred human being with a hard past. I am on a journey that I hope to share transparently with anyone who stumbles here”.

3. http://labiblioafronebrulepas.com/about/ for her wonderful purpose to create an African library that cannot burn: “Anne KEDI SIADE, young cameroonian Lady passionate of Africa, and filled with the vision that this continent will be big and determined to be part of it”. I just love people with a purpose!

4. http://julesgemstonepages.wordpress.com/about-me-sort-of/ for being so much more than  “…an old leather boot trying to walk on a catwalk and nobody cares because I’m not a plastic mock animal high heel shoe.”

5. http://bucketlistpublications.org/about-me/ for sharing : ” portrays the beauty and limitless possibilities of this world”, but also the fears and insecurities that allow us to be brave. And I refer to this post that I liked a lot: http://bucketlistpublications.org/2014/07/18/drowning-fear/

6. http://alygeorges.wordpress.com/about/ for her purpose to “…share my experiences on this site, so I can motivate someone; help them understand that there’s so much to life than just resigning oneself to misery”

I think the rules are to answer the above questions, post the award, link back to who gave it to you and nominate others.
