August 27, 2018- 50 things to find inspiration for 50 days, Day 1

Hello August,

I was feeling a bit stuck after summer-nation, my goals in suspense and my romantic life also floating, that I decided to try 50 things for an inspiration, one every day.

In this way, I want to take a distance from everyday concerns.

So, after going online I read, “get lost in beautiful nature photos online”;

ok, let’s do that: for this, I think directly of bloggers

Randal in聽https://dalocollis.com/2014/03/06/dreams-between-dusk-and-dawn/, and https://wordpress.com/read/blogs/65027478/posts/4773for their inspiring nature photos!

And for inspirational quotes with beautiful nature pictures, Eddie Two Hawks

August 12, 2015- It is raining stars tonight!

Hello August,

we are expecting a rain of stars tonight with a peak of meteorites showing off during dawn! What do you mean you know? Oh, yes, you are right 馃槈 I will be staring at the sky at about 5.00 i the morning, or at least this is my plan. And I mean to make wishes in order to maximize the chances, so I prepare my list.

So, I would聽 urge my friends to do the same. You don’t want to see all these stars falling with an enormous luck potential and stare speechless, not knowing exactly what to wish? When I was a child, I was told a beautiful story about a man whose Luck was sleeping at the top of the mountain; to make a long story short, he went through a lot of trouble in order to wake her up. On his way home, many opportunities for love, power and material success presented themselves but he was close to all of them. He was not willing to change his perspective. So, he ended up being devoured by a lion who was told that it needed to eat the stupidest person alive in order to check its enormous appetite.

Here you are April, open your eyes and say yes to opportunities you were not expecting! Make a list of wishes, but if something beautiful comes along the way, say: why not?

Barry Simmons at Lake Martin, Alabama caught this Perseid meteor in 2013. Notice the colors! The Perseids are known to be colorful meteors.

June 2nd, 2015- How to transform in a way that respects our nature

Dear June hello,

I make a big deal of transformation: to come closer to my desires and aspirations, but there is something I need to take care of: accepting myself and my rhythm, so transform in a way which respects that. Trying to become something that goes against our nature is of no use.

For example, you are a howl and you try to get up early in the morning and change your chase habits. That doesn’t particularly agree with you. Also, it is not a question of underestimating night life and thinking that only morning birds are cool.

Now, I have been promising myself to get up at 7.00 and instead, it has been 10.30 and I started stressing up.

On the other hand, last night I stayed up working on my novel until 24.30.

The only difficulty is that most of the other people don’t have this rhythm. If I need to meet and interact with some of them, it might help to find some common ground.

There is a new artistic Platform I would like to join. For the moment, all I can do is get there in the afternoon 馃檪

April 24, 2015- Escapade to the C么te d’Azur

Dear April,

my friend from Antwerp, the Northern part of Belgium came for a couple of days and already left. My mission was to help him out find a beautiful spot for a summer-house in the South of France. I would have picked up some unknown place at the Hautes Alpes, but he was obsessed with the C么te d’Azur. After all, why not choose a classic? If Picasso, among others loved this area, why not my friend?

We walked and walked, drove here and there, asked questions and answered others. Finally, he decided Saint Tropez is the spot he likes. But he will come back again with his family during the summer to visit again the properties offered.

In any case, it was a beautiful excuse to see again spots I am familiar with and always make my day when I am there. At a moment when they are so much quieter than in the summer time 馃檪

It was important for my spring break to fill my eyes and mind with beautiful images, smell the sea and the spring flowers, watch the coast line. I could put myself in the place of my friend and imagine it is I who is deciding for a summer-house. It is a sort of commitment. Like a marriage, I guess. You pick this place and you decide to create a more permanent bond.

To dedicate part of your time. Other places can be more beautiful or exciting. You can still visit them and never return. But once you pick up a place you call your own, it becomes a center of gravity, pulling you there 馃檪

April 17, 2015- Trekking and clearing my mind

Dear April,

thanks to the nice weather you have offered us, I started a new habit in my hometown: a morning trek, or to be more honest, a walk in the beautiful paths nearby.

Don’t imagine anything very sporty: it is a half an hour, or an hour walk, every morning, the last few days. Looking at the beautiful flowers, grass and trees feels so very inspiring!

I like to take nobody else than myself in this brief walk. I barely nod to people or animals which might cross my path. This is a moment to observe and clear my mind from all sort of clutter: thoughts which crowded my mind in my last Parisian days. A spring break’s objective is to bring me closer to spring, and let new ideas emerge!

Sometimes I bring my iPod for some music, or something inspirational. Other times, nothing at all. I keep walking, listening to the birds, smelling the earth and flowers.

Something else I would like to do is to refresh my driving skills. I don’t have a car in Paris, but it is another “physical activity” that helps me feel different. A friend has promised to give me some free lessons in hers, so we will see what will come out of it 馃檪

In any case, I realize that I need more play and fun, so the spring break is here to help me change perspective and format my hard drive 馃檪

April 14, 2015- Looking for beautiful spots in the South of France

April hello,

I was checking beautiful places because a friend of mine from Flanders, the Northern part of Belgium will come to visit and will look for a beautiful place to buy in the South of France.

I don’t know his budget, but it is difficult to decide between the “Hautes Alpes” and the C么te d’Azur. It depends on the person’s mood and taste I guess. To me, most places are beautiful, I would have a hard time to pick up just one.

In any case this will be a nice break to help me see my priorities right now.

I am not an expert on property, but I can help as an interpreter and also know people and places here and there 馃檪

October 21b- Empowerment and goals

Dear October,

what is the next right move? You might ask. Feeling good and getting a sense of direction. Actually I do. There is an idea that has been like a seed planted in my mind, and it starts growing. I will need to find a team of enthusiastic artists to work on that.

I am going through a quote period, so here is one:

“When the personality comes to serve the energy of your soul, that is authentic empowerment”

Oprah Winfrey

Now, the way I understand this, if I am a Tiger – I was in a dream- I need to behave like one in order to feel good and serve my purpose in the bigger world I belong to : chase, sleep, etc. If I decide to become vegetarian it might not agree with me and the balance of my environment might be lost. It is like being a fish out of water.

For human beings, there is a bigger choice of paths and actions. Is there everything fixed once and for all before, or at the moment we are born? During our childhood? Later… I don’t know. There are different positions on that, and a lot of studies that have been conducted.

But once, for whatever reason, our personality emerges like the spine of our existence, we need to feel like a fish in the water; having a sense of purpose. That saves a lot of energy… and I will try to get to bed not long after midnight for this reason 馃槈

May 24- Into the woods (4): The era of the dinosaurs

Hello May,

What would it be like to live in the time of the dinosaurs?

For the little girl siting next to me at the local caf茅, it would have been great, since she preferred to live in this period. This is what I would have liked, she stated. Her mother was more pragmatic. There were not many things around at the time, she responded, you might have been bored.

This is an important question to start the day with. Are we having more fun now than we would eventually have if we were running around hunting, pray to the elements of nature and to the occasional Tyrannosaurus?

We have more security. In a way. Internet. Mobile phones. If I see a Tyrannosaurus approaching I can call my friends to the rescue, and send them a mms with the exact size of the beast and its location. We run less, which is good and bad at the same time. We have the illusion that we can make it by ourselves. At the era of the dinosaurs we would have to collaborate more.

How about our love life? Would it have been easier?

There might be less time for dating rituals. Life was shorter and people would have to cut to the chase. No doubting, no questioning. No, 鈥渄oes he/she really like me or is he/she just a friend?鈥 No 鈥淚 feel injured from my last relationship, I am not yet ready for a new one鈥. No, 鈥渋s this only physical or is it love?鈥漎es, or No. And some fighting in case there was competition or difference of opinion. Women were probably as great warriors and hunters as men.

That is how I imagine love at the era of the dinosaurs.

By the way, scientists support that human beings didn鈥檛 coexist with dinosaurs. (http://www.ucmp.berkeley.edu/faq.php#humansanddinos).

But this is just a detail 馃槈

May 9- Into the Woods again: the Jardin des Plantes

Hello dear May,

you want to know if I have been progressing today? I will give you some elements, so you can be the judge of it!

The day was dedicated to a meeting, concerning a big event which will take place mid-July in Paris. No, not my event in the South of France, which is much smaller, just one day at the end of July; if mine is as big as a teaspoon, the Paris event is as the Eiffel Tower. You see what I mean.

International artists will be present for a week. I participate in the organizing team, and we were to meet in order to discuss practical details like: the final program, where people could stay in the midst of a very touristic period, what they should eat, and also, some suggestions for their free time 鈥搃f they鈥檒l have any. How to publicize the whole thing, and if we could do it without money: this becomes a habit 馃槈

I volunteer, and at the same time, learnt a lot, since the other participants have more experience than me in the subject.

The funniest part was the tour that one of the members suggested: he showed us photos and a trajectory of a walk he was proposing: the highlight was a photo of the “Jardin des Plantes”, with a statue of a dinosaur. His suggestion was not approved. But still, it is interesting to see how different views we have on what is valuable in the city.

I am not a big fan of the dinosaur statue, but it is a question of perspective. I agree the “Jardin des Plantes” is a magnificent botanical garden, where as they say 鈥測ou learn about plants as you walk鈥. By the way, it was founded by king Louis XIII in 1635 as a garden for medicinal plants.

Maybe I just need to loosen up a little and go 鈥渋nto the woods鈥 to meet the big bad wolf, the dinosaur, or whatever magnificent creature might be hiding there. After all, surprises are possible even in the square close to my home.

It is spring!
