August 31, 2017-Back to School and Back to London

Hello August,

I have just got back to London and to a beautiful sunshine, although the temperature is lower than at the South of France. And here is a pile of bills waiting for me, and a very busy month ahead.

Somehow, and without no tangible reason, I am very optimistic. I take a break and enjoy the sunshine and a cup of coffee before dealing with re-al-ity.

I feel that I have something special to contribute to the world, through my art, and presence.

Yes, I have been a misunderstood genius, but I will come into terms with my co-humans into this life even if I have to go around the world.

To begin with, I realise I need a personal assistant 😉

The second thing, is to look into the priorities and not the urgent things.

June 4th, 2017: keep up the rhythm! 30 days writing challenge

Hello June,

here I am, deciding to write every day, and keep up with the changes in my life.

Sunday morning in London, and I have already read an article I am writing. Had coffee, yes, once a day and wondering if I can sit outside or not.

Am I going to write early in the day or later?

Let’s try both and see how it goes.

In the next month there are a series of questions to be addressed.

But most of all, we need to keep up the rhythm and feel good.

Because, after all it is summer in our hemisphere!

February 19, 2017-A place to write on a Sunday afternoon in London

Hello February,

I thought it would be ok to take my computer and go work at a Soho café on Sunday. Well, it was nice to change neighborhood and to see new people, but as for working, I should probably forget it.

It was small and crowded, with great coffee, though.

I even tried two or three others in the area, packed with people having the same idea.

What do I exactly look for?

A comfortable cafĂ© with a lot of space, half filled customers. So that you can amuse yourself with other people but they aren’t too many and noisy to completely distract you from whatever you are doing.

A place which is not a well-known chain but something more personalised.

So I went to the Foyle’s cafĂ© on the 5th floor of the homonymous bookstore.

January 26, 2016: Back to London and turning things around :-)

Hello January,

here I am, back to London, after almost a month in the South of France!

It feels as if I am back to a faster pace of life!

I already missed a meeting today, as I was in my hibernating mood.

How do I wake up and shake away a sleepy attitude?

There must be a way to boost my energy and be ready for new adventures!

So, instead of beating up myself because I didn’t check my agenda on time, I will go out for a cup of tea and see how I can turn things around.

September 30, 2016: From Paris to London

Here I am September,

in London again, having tea, whereas there are still issues pending in Paris with my flat and the potential tenant …

It was great being in Paris, going out with my friends, running from one birthday to another…

Although I have almost a year in London, my social life is a bit pale, compared to the wonderful opportunities in the art world…

It is almost Friday night, the pubs are full and I haven’t even thought of contacting anyone I know, I am still writing on my computer, is this serious or what?

How about those madly in love with me, why haven’t they manifested themselves already?

To be honest, I might have some prospects, but I didn’t feel very enthusiastic. I gave a somewhat indifferent answer to a poor guy who was inviting me out, and I have been systematically late in my meetings with another one until he got angry. No, I wasn’t passionate about them. Although apparently, indifference is an important ingredient for a successful relationship, not passion.

Although apparently, indifference is an important ingredient for a successful relationship, not passion. If you are kind of indifferent and cool, your brain functions more than your instincts. You give people a chance, and it is difficult to get angry at them.

I might exaggerate a bit, but it is the question of choosing with your brain or with your heart.

Probably both are important, what would you suggest?

September 6, 2016: Back to School and back to London!

Hello there September

I just got back to London with a flue after a month and a half absence in the South of France. Actually, that is where I come from. It has been working for an art exhibition, family, book presentations. And some real holidays.

And now where to April? To London for another year!

With desires, fears and wishes on the bags, I brought with me.

An update of my last adventures? It might help me to set new goals for the ” rentrĂ©e”, or getting back to school.

The first year in London worked quite well, and I got to publish my first book, in France in the meanwhile.

I am up to for another year in London, should I look for a regular job or finish my last book or both?

In the meanwhile, I am going for some chocolate to get inspiration!

June 13 and 14, 2016: In the mood for a walk

Hello June,

have I mentioned that one of my objectives is to walk as much as possible and it seems that I have succeeded in the last two days… at the same time all this walking leaves space for soul-searching…

Should I stay or should I go?

Should I go out with the charming German writer I met last week or should I try more with Portuguese artist?

Is getting another job compatible with me writing a book?

These thoughts and even more, while dancing in Nancy Sinatra’s:

June 11 and 12, 2016: walking at the park and Blogger’s Bash

Hi June,

yes, I have an internet connexion problem because I spent all my gigabytes watching this film with dogs in order to relax. The result is I don’t have any connexion left to blog or other things. And the computer I use right now is not private so I might have to go fast.

In any case, if you need an update of Blogger’s Bash, I attended on Saturday, here is the link to hear the news directly from Sacha, the talented organizer: https://sachablack.co.uk/annual-bloggers-bash/

Since I was under cover, no photo or name of mine will appear.

I enjoyed meeting very easy-going and cool co-bloggers, not to mention the speech given by the master-mind Luca, of WordPress, with tips about blogging. Telegram and Snapchat was one of them. But there were a lot more.

Now, as to the rest of the weekend, I had to go wireless, and instead I fed the ducks at the park. No need for connexion, just a connexion with Nature

June 8 and 9, 2016: looking forward to the Blogger’s Bash in London

Hello June,

so there is this blogger meeting, the Blogger’s Bash I intend to attend for the first time, and meet people who share the same passion: writing and publishing something on line on a regular basis!

In the meanwhile, I have been dealing with practical questions: how to keep my environment organized, satisfy my flatmate who thinks I don’t clean the surfaces in the Kitchen every time I finish cooking -she might have a point- with creative writing, organizing my next artistic event and also looking for funding opportunities for another round in the UK.

Hmmm… and last but not least, I need to walk more than 15.000 steps a day so that our team wins the trophee at the working platform I am attached to.

So, where is the time for romance? Passion? Exhuberation? Soul searching?

To be honest, I start from soul-searching and being open to inspiration.

This is why I can forget spraying Dettol on the kitchen or to put my clothes in order.

This is also the reason why I start my working day after lunch.

And why I finish so late!

Do I want to change that?

I like writing late, the feeling that I am the only person around.

There is something rebellious about it, I am not sure I can find early in the morning.

What do you think?

Bloggers Bash – The Ultimate FAQ

May 27, 2016- In the mood for love

Hello dear May on your way to go,

the weather was beautiful in London and this has triggered a mood for love to me… and probably to these couples who were kissing on the closest park, to pigeons and to other forms of life…

So how was this mood canalized in my case? I have recently developed a romantic interest for a Portuguese artist. It has been before my trip to Paris. I knew him before and found him moderately attractive. But there was not a particular spark between us.

In the spring colours, something about him became more enchanting. Was it something he said or the fact that he got on my nerves? Difficult to decide. The truth is, we don’t seem to agree on many things. Then why do we hand around together?

Probably because he doesn’t know that many people and this brings expats together somehow. I don’t hang out a lot with other French in the same way as other people. And my workplace is multicultural.

So I had an argument with the Portuguese and now he is avoiding to look at me or to talk to me directly. Is this called sulking?

In any case he points himself in front of me just to show me he doesn’t.

Is this serious? Or even grown up?
