Hello October dear,

no, champaign and proseco is not the best way to relax and get up full of energy! I was invited by my flatmate who holds much better her liquor than me, and trust me, no.

So, I go back to my list of things:

I have contacted people I wasn’t in touch with, but still, I also need to follow their advice or suggestions.

I also know I need ot keep on at my work instead of making the looking for positions all I am doing.

How about having fun?

How about getting more energy?

Eating better?

It’s 10.20 and some fruit might be good instead of just latte.

And then? Then some granola probably.

And a lot of faith that things will get well, in the best possible way

March 21, 2018-Spring Equinox, time for re-generation, RIGHT NOW

Hello March,

 

I had tequila last night to celebrate the spring equinox, but even if it was just a glass, my head is not very clear this morning. Anyway, it was worth it because it triggered some dancing 🙂

Now, coffee, this other drug and fuel for life.

The neighbours are still having last summers plastic flamingoes on the balcony.

So, let’s do the job, as my friend Samurai Robert suggested.

And let’s go to the gym also.

So, shouldn’t I wait for another second?

No?

NOW right now is the moment.

I am writing this email, I am concentrating and focusing on my purpose.

It is a sunny day, and the first day of spring.

Haven’t we hibernated long enough, those of us who are in the north hemisphere?

For those in the south, a beautiful autumn is around the corner, and it is also such a beautiful season!

December 8, 2017- How to take the bull by the horns :-)

Hello December,

yes, this is not exactly an expression with Christmas spirit, more like a corrida in Spain expression, but as the year drives towards the end, you realize there are things you need to accomplish, still there.

So, what to do?

Depress?

Fell incompetent?

Or, take the bull by the horns?

The last seems better.

It’s like, taking action and facing right away the biggest fear, or what the oponent has the most fearful first.

September 1st, 2017-Getting on the front line

Welcome September!

Yes, I will no longer run and hide, I will get out there and find who would like to join in and work on a collective art project with me!

September first, I feel it’s time to take a chance and jump in.

To begin with, I am going to ask for help.

Here I am, with an idea. Or lots of ideas.

How can they become reality?

With other people’s help. People who would join, transform and contribute to them.

Am I afraid of people who don’t like me on my field?

Yes, but it is time to go and find some others.

Who do.

There is no time for false modesty here.

March 23- A final step of this month’s challenge: advertizing myself :-)

Dear March,

I thought I could play around and be lazy for a while after the intensive first two weeks, but I just found out the decision on my art project is taken this weekend! That means there is some serious last-minute advertizing of myself that needs to be done.

I am divided between stressing up, and showing a motivated, yet, cool attitude.

The thing is, I am kind of a perfectionist, so the public relations department has not conducted my campaign with enough fervour until now (meaning me, myself and I).

A friend told me I look too cool, so people might think there is another chance for her, she is not “hungry” enough.

How do I find the right balance between being eager, not feeling afraid to say “vote for my project”! and still have this interior peace I am looking for?

Probably when I don’t think about myself and what people think of me, and concentrate more on my project and vision?

November 16- How to make your own luck and just in case, how to pray for a miracle

Dear November,

I am ready to go to bed after a rainy day in Paris, and dividing my time between my favorite cafés and meetings with certain artists I would like to work with.

As I finally returned home, I started browsing some web pages and came up to “How to make your own luck” and the advice given seemed quiet interesting:

a. Be assertive and proactive

b. Believe in a goal

c. Put deadlines on your goals

d. Expect great lucky ideas to occur to you, but do not worry, if you’re not inspired right now.

e. Raise your expectations

f. Work smarter, not harder

g. Seek new experiences

h. Be positive

i. Persist!

And in case this doesn’t work, there is always another possibility 🙂

October 18- Insights from J.K. Rowling

Hello October,

what did you say? Yes, I like Harry Potter. I have read some of the books and watched some of the films. I love fairy tales, and this one has a very good psychological background, it seems to me. So here is a quote from its author, to inspire our day:

“I was set free because my greatest fear had been realized, and I still had a daughter who I adored, and I had an old typewriter and a big idea. And so rock bottom became a solid foundation on which I rebuilt my life”.

Now, the way I understand it, is, if we have something we love to defend, and an inspiring idea, this is all we need to act. Difficult circumstances become a sort of emergency: if I don’t move now, something very valuable to myself and others will be lost. This is the moment! Cease the day April!

October 8- Focusing on our goal

Dear October,

after an extremely busy day yesterday, I fell asleep with my contact lenses and clothes on; so I thought this is a sign to take it easy today, and enjoy my home and neighborhood.

Energy cannot be lost, so if we feel without it at some point, there must be a way to get it back. There are different ways to achieve it, varying from rest, being with loved ones, singing, praying, …

How about spending less energy in social interactions? Contact with other people should be a source of energy. Actually we depend on others for practically everything nowadays: our food (supermarket), affection, health, … and we contribute in this or the other way in other people’s existence. As parents, friends, children, …

Then how come we also allow others to drain our energy? It is one thing to give, because a good rest will restore it. But energy is drained when you overspent it in a stressful situation.

How do we get into positive and nourishing situations and avoid the rest?

One solution that comes to my mind is not to mind loosing face or not. This can save a lot of energy.

Another could be to work on our self-confidence as a form of shield, that doesn’t allow anything negative in. But we need to be careful not to exclude other people and their perspectives.

Another is to have in mind what is our objective. For example, today I want to write two pages on this or that.

I will simply not listen to the neighbor complaining about X or my boss about Y. I will create my music for those who want to listen.

If  I use others for self-assurance, there will always something to destabilize me.

Someone among the people I interact with who is not satisfied with my looks, clothes, accent, behavior, etc.

After all, it just doesn’t matter how good I am.

I need to focus on my story.

October 2- Motivation to act

Hello October,

If I have goals and aspirations, how do I know I have the necessary Energy to accomplish them?

Energy comes from alimentation, the sun, … and it gives us the possibility to act.

But then a person eating a lot should have more energy to use than someone eating less quantities.

And this is not what happens in reality.

There is something that puts this energy into use. When we put fuel to a car it is necessary, but not enough to rule.

Something should happen, that will transform this fuel into action.

A form of ignition.

What is happening in the case of a human being?

Could motivation be a form of ignition?

This little something that will use the energy we dispose to act?

Taking care of our body, exercise, eat healthy, could be a way to access some good quality fuel that will not damage our system.

But Motivation? How do we keep it at a high level?

Could it be through our thoughts and emotions, our relationships, imagination, and … goal setting?

And then, how do we keep our motivation in good shape?
