January 19- One Lovely Blog Award

Dear January,

I would like to thank wholeheartedly Meg for nominating me -a while ago- for the One Lovely Blog Award! It was an opportunity to discover the musings of someone who might “never be an adult”, but so much the better!

Now, January, you want to know how come I accept an award every day?

Well, it is like having a birthday close to Christmas or another celebration, and then there is also New Year’s Eve coming. You are entitled to a present on each of these occasions. So you come up with at least three presents. Isn’t it great?

I will not mash-up the awards as Meg did for hers, although it is an excellent strategy: (https://mediocremegblog.wordpress.com/2014/10/14/the-one-lovely-liebster-blog-award/)

Each gift is valuable and I will have more fun unwrapping each package and preparing a gift for other bloggers on my turn.

So, the One Lovely Blog Award nominations are chosen by fellow bloggers for those newer and up-and-coming bloggers. The goal is to help give recognition and also to help the new blogger to reach more viewers. It also recognizes blogs that are considered to be “lovely” by the fellow bloggers who choose them. This award recognizes bloggers who share their story or thoughts in a beautiful manner to connect with viewers and followers. In order to “accept” the award the nominated blogger must follow several guidelines:

– Thank the person who nominated you for the award. (Thanks again Meg!)

– Add the One Lovely Blog logo to your post. (Ok)

– Share 7 facts or things about yourself

Now, 7 facts anyone would like to know?

1. I like “Galette des rois”, to begin with, the Epiphany cake with a special recipe

2. I was having a piece right now

3. I am a passionate person, when I love something I love it: I can read the same book a hundred times, eat “gallette des rois” every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

4. I am messy but appreciate order

5. I love herbal tea

6. I have a secret identity

7. I have a lazy side

– Nominate 15 bloggers you admire and inform the nominees by commenting on their blog.

Now, this is the part that demands some work… the main criteria I used this time, apart from the fact that I love these blogs, is that in their majority, they are written by men. Yes, I tried a positive discrimination because I realized I have nominated more women’s blogs the last time. Not that it matters, but I would like to highlight a different form of sensibility.

Some of these blogs belong to artists, photographers, writers, cinema critics. Others are written by educators, coaches, people with a life experience, unfolding in their writing. I will not say which is which, but this is a token of appreciation. They are all lovely blogs to me!

  1. I’m spellbound..
Thanks for the honor and recognition.. 🙂

The firsts always has a unique place and so does this first nomination and recognition..

I would surely make that post and nomination on my blog, as soon as I come down from the cloud nine I’m on.. 😉

  2. Congratulations on your nomination, and thank you for passing it on to me. It may take a while for me to get it together to fulfill the requirements of the award so that I can pass the kindness on to others, but in the meantime, please accept my thanks.

  4. Wow!

I kind’a saw this coming for you.

When I got your post on my email, I was like, ‘yeah, she deserves it.’

But then I didn’t read all the way down.

    I skipped the nominees part.

I didn’t see it coming to me.

I didn’t think I was one of the nominees.

    But I was.

One of the chosen few ;).

    I really appreciate.

Like you, I can read the same book a hundred times.

    Merci beaucoup.

  5. Congratulations and thank you for the nomination, April. I have always been a fan of your blog and your random musings 🙂 Have a lovely day!

  6. April,
I extend many thanks to you as well. As I’ve read over the comments, I see that I’m not the only who is accepting any type of blog award for the first time. This definitely means a lot to me and I truly appreciate the recognition!

In regards to continuing the train, must we meet all the requirements to accept the award? The one in question for me particularly is “Nominate 15 bloggers you admire and inform the nominees by commenting on their blog.” Must it be 15? Can I nominate as many as I find and go from there? I’m a highly selective person naturally and feel as though it would mean more to those who I pass it to if I’ve only chosen 5 rather than 15.

I hope no offense is taken by this, because I am aware that there are those out there in the blogosphere that take these awards very seriously. I don’t want to break the award chain or not be able to accept it because of my time restraints disallowing me the opportunity to meet all the criteria to pass it along.

    I hope you understand.

    • Dear Dominic, I am happy this means something to you! Considering the number, I wouldn’t know what to tell you, because I am not any sort of authority on this. In my case, it was definitely a lot of work to decide on 15 blogs, because there are a lot of valuable authors. My opinion would be, it is better to nominate less if you feel this way, and in case you see more blogs you love later, to add them to your post 🙂 Or, go check others who received the award, and see if there is a general understanding on the number of the nominees. But again, it is up to you to decide I guess.

  7. Greetings to you, from somewhere in the Mountain Standard Time Zone. It has been a gift over the weeks to discover your blog, checking in on a regular basis to see what is happening at the april4june6: A Journal of Self-Transformation. It is evident that you have been nominated for awards numerous times: well-deserved. Congrats on the most recent award. Again, a delightful blog. So, having said that thank you for your nomination. I will acknowledge your wonderful blog on The Other Side of the Trees. I am humbled by your acknowledgment. I have to figure out how to get the logo on to my blog site. I will ask you about that later. Peace.
